Relocating To Columbia South Carolina

Why would anyone want to move to the Columbia, South Carolina area?  It is famously hot here!!!!  I will tell you why....because  this place is awesome!!!

First is the temperature.....

Columbia may be Famously Hot, but the forecast is predictable; mostly sunny the majority of the time! Night-time brings light breezes and comfortable temperatures. Annual rainfall is forty-five inches; enough to cool things down. Columbia stays above frigid temps and snow is a rare sighting.

Next is the "lake" as it is called around here!!!

Lake Murray is the place to be for the majority of the year.  There's plenty of room for everyone!  At 41 miles long and 14 miles wide at its widest point, Lake Murray covers an area of 78 square miles with 649 miles of shoreline.  The lake hosts many fishing tournaments during the year.  There are several marinas to gas up or grab a bite to eat at Liberty on the Lake and listen to live bands during the summer months.  If you do not own a boat, (by the way did you know that the word BOAT is really an acronym for bust out another thousand? LOL) you can rent a boat or other fun powered water sports vehicles.

Then you have all other fun things to do!

Columbia has the award winning Riverbanks Zoo with has it's own calendar of events and attractions.  There is Edventure Childrens Museum and the  the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum with hosts thousands of visitors every year.  There are many areas of great shopping and dining.

We cannot forget about one of the best schools in the Nation!!!!

The University of South Carolina home of the Gamecocks. The Lady's Basketball team just won the SEC Championship this year in 2015!!! Way to go ladies!!!  But the best part of our "USC" is the football.  Where thousands of people start decorating their homes in Garnet and Black at the beginning of August.  Menus are being planned, invitations are being sent out to where the best tailgate spot will be for the game and so on.  You get it! It's not fall season around here....it's football season.  I can smell the smoked chicken wings now!!!!!

I'm saving the best for last!!!

The Columbia area is one of the least expensive places to live in the United States.  Where else can you purchase an all brick, 2500 square foot home for under 200K?  This area also has some of the highest ranked public schools in the State.  We have many types of neighborhoods around town. Some have community pools, some have playgrounds and bike paths, some are on the lake and some are on the river.

Search the entire Columbia area here for your next dream home!!!
