Top Ten Reasons To Buy A Lexington County Home Today

  1. IT'S A BUYER'S MARKET. I’m sure you’ve heard people say this before, and maybe you don’t know what it means. Don’t worry; I’m here to help you understand it all. Because of the recent financial crisis lots of people have been forced to sell their homes. Just like any other item, in order to get things sold, people have to price their homes competitively. Which means lower prices on houses for buyers to choose from. It also means that there is more inventory (houses) to choose from.
  2. MORTGAGE INTEREST RATES ARE LOW. Not only are interest rates low, they are at historic all time lows! So buying now could lock in super low interest rates for the life of the mortgage!
  3. SAVE ON TAXES Here’s a biggie. Your mortgage interest and real estate taxes can be deducted from your income. Plus there are lots of programs out there which assist first time homebuyers!
  4. EQUITY That’s another one of those words that are difficult to understand, but here, let me help: you see, part of your mortgage payment goes to paying off the principal balance and building your home equity. It starts out slowly and builds as the loan matures. So this is a great way to save for unexpected expenses that might come up. Your 401K certainly doesn’t do this for you.
  5. CUSTOMIZATION IS KEY. Isn’t one of the worst parts of renting the fact that you can’t really change anything? That awesome mural that you’ve been dying to paint, or the recessed lights you’ve been lusting over will only have to be left behind, painted over, or gutted once you’ve outgrown your current rental. Once you own your own home you can do whatever you want. Paint that wall orange, and go to town with your mural brushes. It’s yours. No one can stop you
  6. WORRY FREE LIVING. If you find yourself worried about whether the rent is going to increase, or if your landlord is going to up and move to Hawaii and sell your place out from under you, you’re not alone. One of the scariest parts of renting is not being sure whether the place you’re in today is where you’re living next month. When you own your home, you know that the only major life events that can have an affect on your life…are yours.
  7. YOU CAN ADD TO THE EQUATION. If you’re thinking of adding to your family, want an office so you can work from home, or if your parents need a place to stay, when you own your own home you have the option of putting an addition onto your house. When you rent, you have to find an entirely new place to live, move your things out of the old place and into the new one. Let’s face it, that’s way more work than anyone wants to do.
  8. MOVE ON- WHEN YOU'RE READY Speaking of moving things in and out, when you own your own home you can say goodbye to moving trucks and masking tape because you’re not going to be forced to move for a good long time. Your new home is a place where you can settle into for as long as you want.
  9. PUTTING IN ROOTS. I don’t know about you, but I’m always a little hesitant to fully commit to something I’m not sure will be around for a long time. If, as a renter, you don’t feel a sense of community, it could be because you have not found a place to put in some roots. Owning your own home not only gives you a sense of pride in your property, but also in your community, because this is a place you’re going to be around for a while. It feels good to get to know your neighbors, get involved in local community events, and maybe even volunteer your time with a charity that is close to your heart.
  10. IT WON'T LAST FOREVER. No, I’m not talking about your home; I’m talking about the abundance of homes on the market. In fact, some forecasts predict that the US population will grow by 100 million people within the next 40 years. Which means during my lifetime 40 million households will form. Guess where they’re going to want to live? If your math is as good as mine is you’ve already realized that this is going to mean home prices will rise. It’s time to lock in now before any of that happens.

  11.   The best part is that you don’t have to go very far to find a great home at a great price.I would LOVE to help you find the home of your dreams starting right now!
