Chapin Labor Day Festival and Parade 2016. The 37th annual Chapin Labor Day Festival and Parade takes place this weekend September 3rd - 5th. This year's theme is "Chapin - The Heart of Lake Murray" and the grand sponsor is Lexington Medical Center. This event draws 1000's of residents and visitors to our great town of Chapin. The weekend events begin Saturday morning at Crooked Creek Park with a 5K Walk & Run for Meals on Wheels. Sunday evening there will be a concert on Beaufort Street by Anthony Charles & The Blues Dolphins Street. The party begins at 7 PM and the show at 8 PM. Bring your lawn chairs, but no coolers allowed. Refreshments will be available by Carolina Cookin', Tap It!, and Tipsy Toad Tavern. On Monday, the parade will begin at 9:30 AM and will start in the GIS parking lot and run all the way down to the Bi-Lo shopping center. Immediately following the parade will be live entertainment by the popular local band, Cash Money. A Classic Car show will be held in the Mt. Horeb parking lot. There will be a AMROC Model Train Exhibit in the American Legion Post 193 Building. The Chapin Brand Library will hold it's annual book sale in the Community Room at Chapin Town Hall, which will benefit children and youth reading programs. Games and activities for kids will be on Clark Street. And there will also be lots of vendors selling arts and crafts, clothing items, knick knacks, and food and drinks. The Chapin Labor Day Festival and Parade is sure to be a big hit for the entire family. Hope to see you there!
