Green Lights Hot Dogs And Veterans Day

Green Lights Hot Dogs And Veterans Day

Growing up I loved to read Dr. Seuss’s “Green Eggs & Ham.”  Today is Veteran’s Day and this year in Chapin we can all honor our Veterans with green lights and hot dogs.  How so?

America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. However, it’s hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. Greenlight A Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.

So, change one light to green in a visible location-on your porch, in your home, or at your office-and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans. Then, share your support by taking a picture of your green light and posting it using the hashtag #greenlightavet.

Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement. The simple action of changing one light to green is intended to spark a national conversation regarding the recognition of veterans, and "greenlight" them forward as valued members of our communities.

But that’s not all!

Boland’s ACE Hardware in Chapin is hosting  a VETERANS APPRECIATION DAY - FREE HOT DOG LUNCH on Saturday, November 14th from 11am-2pm.  The lunch is being  provided by: American Legion RidersChapinPost 193. ALL VETERANS are invited to enjoy themselves so that the community can Honor you for your service to our country.

Grilled Hot Dogs, Chips, Soft Drinks, Tea and Water will be provided for FREE!

So how about this, come out to Boland’s this Saturday and while you munch on a hot dog, buy a green light bulb and let your appreciation of our Veteran’s shine every day, all year long!
